Surprise Birthday Party

It was definitely a "surprise" party for Mic and his sister Nic on their 11th birthday, this past Halloween day! The keepers were at the top of the rock wall behind him and tossed the cake down into the enclosure from about 20 feet up. I know the keepers tried to toss it into a safe area, but it landed only a foot or two in front of this Tiger as he was walking around the empty pool area, startling the heck out of him. This shot was taken only a split second after the cake hit the ground. When it hit, he put on the brakes and backed up with a very "toothy" growl and hiss, but unfortunately, I missed that instant. I did manage to get his "ready to defend himself" look though and you can definitely see the surprise on his face.
