A much larger Pond Turtle seems to be very protective of the smaller Painted Turtle. I can almost hear what the big brute is thinking..."You mess wif da liddle guy, you godda deal wif me!"
Taken at the Oregon Zoo exhibit of endangered Pond and Painted Turtles. The zoo raises them from babies and then releases them back into the wild to try to rebuild their populations.
