Music of the Forest by LoneWolfPhotography Music of the Forest by LoneWolfPhotography
My first attempt at making a "Living Water" image.

*** (In order to see the animation, you have to enlarge this image to full view!)

I took a small series of photos of the same waterfall to get different looks in the flow of the water. Added the first image to Gif Animator and in my editing software, extracted only the water from the remaining images (what a job that was!) and then overlaid these removed waters onto the original image with varying transparencies and created new slides for Gif Animator. My desire was to get the feeling of flowing water, much like those lighted and framed deals you see in stores that look like the water is really flowing.

I'm happy with this first image as a place to start, but I can easily see that I have many refinements to make before I get it right. I'm working on various methods to make it more realistic and I will get it right, sooner or later. :D

This is a very pretty little falls located on the Eagle Creek trail near Cascade Locks in the Columbia River Gorge and can be found approx. 1/2 the way from the trail head to Punchbowl Falls.

Thank you. :D Glad you like it, even though I have a long way to go to get it right. Right now, it still looks like slides in an animation. I'm working on ideas to make the water look like it's flowing along it's course. :phew:

 Thank you much Rose. :D Still have a ways to go to get it right, but just the fact that there is water movement at all is enough to make me happy for the moment. Once I get it right, I'm going to make it screen size and work on making it a wallpaper. Might even add a real butterfly or some birds or something. :giggle:

:D You found a way to make it wallpaper? Or do you just mean that you can look at it and have a small waterfall on your screen? I have seen "living wallpapers" before, with moving water and/or animals/birds and such...even sound. I'd love to figure out how to do that.

Gotcha! :D Once I get it working right, I'm gonna work or making it wallpaper sized so it can be a desktop wallpaper. Thinking of adding a few other animations to it too, like a couple of butterflies or something like that. :D

Well, thank you for the offer! I'm flattered, really. :D I'd be happy to join your group. I love waterfalls to pieces. :giggle: Though I must tell you, I am having trouble just keeping up with my submissions and comments and replies just from my own page. Not sure how active I will be able to be, but it'd be great to be able to see all your waterfalls too. :excited:

Yeah, you may have room for improvement. In the animation, not in the photo!! That is a stunner, Mark.

Glad to hear it! That you're gonna keep working on animations. Were we just talking about how your composition skills have improved? And I cannot believe I did not notice the title of this lovely dev. It really does look like a visual representation of music. Classical I think, probably Bach. Or maybe Handel. :D

oo.
I got the chance to visit the Washington side with a friend. It got nicer the further east we went. Hoping to visit again when there is more sun and less rain.
