Description

Mule Deer doe.

I was at Jewell Wildlife Refuge to shoot the Elk (with a camera silly) and was parked alongside the road, leaning against my fender when a noise behind me caught my attention. Now, on previous trips there, I've had the same thing happen and I've been lucky enough to turn and find one of the Elk crossing the road right next to me, but this time, it was this little doe coming up the roadside ditch not 6 ft. from me! She certainly seemed unafraid of me and in fact seemed to be mostly as curious about me as I was of her. She showed no fear at all as I walked slowly around the back of my car to get a better shot of her and in fact, almost seemed to be gracing me with her best pose! I don't think I could have asked her for better than this broadside shot, nearly perfectly framed by the bit of Fall color behind her. :boogie:

I'm loving everything, Mark! So nice to see green - all our deer have only got brown grass for bedding and fodder :giggle:
