A Barred Owl at the Oregon Zoo perches in the bough of a tree in his enclosure. Normally, this exhibit is in near total darkness and since you aren't allowed to use flash (a rule I respect, but too many other's don't) he is very hard to photograph. This day however, they must have been simulating daylight for him as the lights were on bright enough to get this great portrait shot of both his face and the distinctive patterns of his back from which he gets his name.

I'm just like you....I pretty much love all animals, even including spiders and snakes, as long as they don't get ON me! I'd say it's pretty normal for a woman not to like spiders so whatever you do, DON'T CLICK THIS [link]!!
Sorry, that was a dirty trick and I'm giggling to myself right now, but if it turns out it was TOO mean a trick, I'll stop. I wonder if you were able to resist clicking it anyway?
lmao i did click on it but was blank so thank God no spiders was seen... when i was a teen my older brother that was well an idiot at the time decided to catch spiders in containers with his friend and they ambushed me and my friend and threw spiders at us they were so many and so creepy and ewwww i cant even describe how horrible and disgusting it was lol so ever since i have a Phobia for spiders lol
Like the man that gets so depressed he decides to commit suicide by shooting himself in the head, but when he pulls the trigger, nothing happens. He checks the gun and finds a bullet in the chamber and is confused why it didn't fire. He thinks maybe the bullet is defective so he has a friend check it out and his friend tells him there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the bullet...it SHOULD have fired. So now, the man thinks he has a guardian angel and decides there is a reason he is still alive. You too must have a guardian angel. I went back and checked the link I warned you not to click on and it's perfectly good! It SHOULD have taken you to the photo you don't want to see. I guess your guardian angel just didn't want you to look at it.
hahaha thats one way of putting it i even clicked 2 times lol but nothing! i dont even know why i clicked on it its like telling a kid not to do something and then they cant help themselfs and have too anywayz lol
He's Beautiful... Hey a fun little fact, if I remember right. This owl here is actually blind in both eyes. I do not remember his name, but it's amazing how he knows where his food bowl is. ^-^ Beautiful capture though! They usually change the lighting every so often during the day to simulate night and day.
