It is; It provides a high look-out post to spot prey and other predators that may be more harmful than themselves.

I figured it had to be something like that. Much the same as the reason a Grizzly (or any bear really) will stand on it's hind legs when it senses something near by. :nod: Now with people, we seem to only seek high ground when we're being chased by the bad guy in the movies or when tsunami's are coming. :giggle:

When my son was little, he would stand on anything tall and chant, "I'm king of the mountain!" Sounds like it's common in all life forms. :D Nice shot!
