Ham on Stone by LoneWolfPhotography Ham on Stone by LoneWolfPhotography
This little guy really was quite a 'ham' I think. As I sat there in the sunshine and slight breeze, enjoying the view and the day, he kept climbing on top of rocks all around me and then freezing there in some really cool pose until I took his picture, then he'd be off to another spot and do it all over again. :giggle:

You seem surprised. Don't you have any chipmunks on your list of little buddies up there? They're everywhere here, though they can be hard to catch! Again, so glad you found him so pleasing. :D

What is surprising me is to see chipmunk images taken by you... Of course, I have quite a few photos of those animals! :giggle:

I know that they are everywhere in North America except maybe for Florida. But as far as I know, yours in the West are a little smaller than ours. I read that in a book, this chipmunk is very similar to the ones I see here.

Mark, I am back at the cottage for Summer and they are already coming to see me, they recognize me, cheers! :D

Hmmm....well, now that I think of it, I don't think I have any other chipmunk images do I? But you must know that I love animals nearly as much as you do. Yep, I know you have tons of them and I tell everyone that wants to see more to go to your gallery!

Congratulations on being back in your cottage. I really envy you for having a 'get-a-way' like that. I can only imagine how great it must be. Also very glad that your animal friends haven't forgotten you so we'll be seeing many more of your wonderful photos! :w00t:

Aww, I do know that you love animals of course!
You are so kind, thank you very much! :aww:

Being back at the cottage is great indeed, it is a real "get-a-way" as you say. But until now, the weather has been awful... It is getting warmer now, though. Thank you again!

I know this reply is late and you might not even still be at the cottage so saying I hope the weather gets better for you won't help much I'm afraid. But I can say that I hope it DID get better for you. :D

In the animal love department, I think you may have me beat M'Lady!

hehe...well, it's a chipmunk, but that's a small matter. Glad you liked him, but I didn't play fair. This guy is so cute that nearly any shot of him would be liked just for the cute factor. :giggle: You know, I know what you mean about envying my experience. I hear stories all the time about other people's interactions with wildlife and I always envy them too. It's just so cool when a wild animal does something totally unexpected and shows no fear and comes close like this. It always makes me feel (though I know this isn't true) that there was just something about me that made them feel safe and drew them to me. Sort of like Snow White and all her animal friends, know what I mean?

OK Chipmunk, sorry :giggle:
And the cute factor is nice, but you know I rarely fave images just because they are cute. You really know how to put a photo together. And I do think that wild animals are more drawn to some folks than others. You and Jo both seem to have the touch!

:giggle: Didn't mean to be correcting, but I DO love teasing you. :D :poke: Thank you for the compliment. I guess I don't mind admitting that I think I have an eye for composition so it's something I can be proud of if that's not being too vain or egotistical, but in any case, you have a pretty good eye for that yourself! As for having 'the touch'...Jo's got me beat all to hell and gone!
