Close Friends

Don't really know if plants can really think or have any kind of intelligence or not, but here in Portland, Oregon, by the side of this city roadway, the weeds and flowers seem to know who their friends are as they all stay very close to this fire hydrant. If you notice behind this close knit group, the field is fairly devoid of any plants other than the grasses that cover everything. The vast majority of thistles, teasels, daisies etc. were all clustered around the hydrant. Maybe it's just that it seeps a bit of water so the plants grow better here....
