As the title infers...this is as close (double meaning) to a perfect creature as you can get without becoming part of the menu! A close up study in detail of one of the new lionesses at the Oregon Zoo's Predators of the Serengeti exhibit.

Although I can now tell the difference between the two, I still don't know which name belongs to which lioness. I'm guessing one of my watchers will help me out on that score. :D

Taken, obviously, at the Oregon Zoo on Halloween day.

I seem to be irresistibly drawn to close ups of them. They have such amazing and strong features and I get to see them so rarely that the details just mesmerize me. :nod: Thank you so much Lynn and glad you enjoyed it. :hug:

You do take amazing portrait shots and yes they are magnificent! I think I get to see them more than you seeing it's one of our big 5, but there's something about them that draws you in, I never tire and each one is very unique :love:

Great job of bringing out the soft texture of the hair and that look of total concentration! She looks so relaxed and yet instantly ready to spring after something if the opportunity presented itself. Love your "menu" pun :)

You hit the nail right on the head. :nod: :D I really like catching them in this kind of relaxed mood, where you can really really get a good look at them in detail. :D

Glad you liked my menu pun but it's the truth isn't it? She was only about 4 feet away, separated by just glass. To get closer, I'd have had to be in the enclosure and I would definitely be an Entree' then for sure! :giggle:
