With the "golden hour" late afternoon sun imbuing the trees with golden tones and some careful positioning of my camera, I was able to get a shot of this "Christmas Moon" in stark contrast to an incredible blue sky on my day after Christmas trip to Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge in Washington. Though I had no Christmas tree of my own, it would seem Mother Nature chose to give me one of hers.
I hope all of your Christmases were everything you wanted it to be.

Thank you very much Philippe! I'm really surprised anyone liked it enough to feature. I sort of took it more as a bit of comedy than anything I expected to be taken as a good photograph, but if there is one person that likes it, then I'm glad I took it.
Thank you so much Kal. I know this image isn't all that popular...did it mostly for myself for a few reasons so it's gratifying to me to find that someone else has enjoyed it.
Thank you MyGina. Actually, as I was walking, I noticed the placement of the moon kept getting closer and the thought just sort of occurred to me. I found myself wishing there were some stars around too, so I could get them shining through the branches...sort of like Christmas lights too.
