Cairn Basin, in the Mt. Hood Wilderness Area on the flank of Mt. Hood. I camped here for 4 days over the Labor Day weekend of 2003. Turns out it was the weekend that a forest fire started in the Columbia River Gorge near Multnomah Falls and had Interstate 84 shut down in both directions for a couple of days. This meadow was about 100 feet from my campsite and I started and ended all 4 days by taking photos of Mt. Hood's peak towering over the meadow. Hope you enjoy my "miniature" model of it.
