Autumn in the Gorge 003b

Continuing my series, Autumn in the Gorge. This is another view of Rowena Crest viewpoint from along the road up to the top. The profusion of Fall color was breathtaking. In this image, I was struck by the composition of the scene with the beautiful trees on the right and the profusion of color covering the slope on the left framing the view of Rowena Crest which had just been lit by yet another shaft of golden sunlight breaking through the clouds. I liked the way the winding road seemed to be leading directly to it from the bottom and the clouds finishing the framing at the top.

Personally, I tend to like my scenes such as this a bit on the dark side (a flaw in my character?) but I also recognize that brighter has it's merits as well, especially since this is such vibrant Fall color so I am including both a dark and a light version. Hope one of them is to your liking.
